GN Separation has recently completed the production and shipment of a batch of Pneumatic Sludge Transfer Pumps for an overseas customer. The equipment will be used for the transfer and recovery of sludge and other difficult-to-handle materials in demanding working environments.
As the pump itself does not require an electric motor or other electrical components for material transfer, it can provide an alternative solution for applications where minimizing electrical equipment is important, particularly in wet, dirty or remote working environments.
Depending on the application, GN Pneumatic Sludge Transfer Pumps can be used for a wide range of sludge transfer, material recovery and cleanup operations. Typical applications include thickener de-sludging, tunneling and TBM operations, sump and shaft cleaning, tailings and ash pond cleaning, digester and pond cleaning, oil spill recovery and transfer, under-belt spillage cleanup, hazardous waste recovery, drilling mud and cuttings transfer, mining slurry transfer, and offal transfer.
The pneumatic pump design is also suitable for transferring sludge, muck, slime and other materials that may be challenging to handle with conventional pumping systems. Its compressed-air-driven operation provides flexibility for applications where the installation environment is remote, wet, dirty or subject to demanding operating conditions.
